Dialogue

First meeting:

Nowak
...
Hey.
Uhhh...
Are you able to hear me in there?
...
Okay, moving on...
Kleiver
SHUT UP!
Every word you speak is a waste.
...
You seek my cooperation, eh?
You seek some semblance of meaning in this uncaring place, EH?
YOU WANT TO SEE THE GODS ABOVE AND BELOW WEEP,
EH!?
...
Bosch
Holy hell I love this guy.
This is great.
Punch meaning! Kill god!
Nowak
Uh... Yeah.
I... I guess.
Kleiver
The music men, they torment me.
Prophets of complacency and noise. Silence them.
Or at least understand the virtue of silence.
Then return to me.
Bosch
We HAVE to get this guy on the team.

When meeting again before reaching the requirement:

Kleiver
...
Nowak
Hey uhh...
Kleiver
...
Nowak
*Quietly* What did he want again?
Bosch
Music Men. He wanted us to kill more Music Men.
He really, really doesn't like Music Men.

After reaching the requirement:

Nowak
Okay I've killed....
Kleiver
Shhh...
Do you hear that?
...
...
...
Silence.
We are allies within silence.
...
Nowak
Great!
Kleiver
Shhh...

Meeting them afterwards:

Nowak
Hey, are you still willing to tag along with us?
Kleiver
Shhh...

Meeting them afterwards, with a full party:

Nowak
Hey, are you still willing to tag along with us?
Kleiver
Shhh...
You are too loud.

Tips

  • Giving Kleiver a healer or healing item is helpful due to the damage he takes from Cacophony and wrong-pigmenting
  • Splig's ability to change the color of Lucky Pigment can help with Kleiver's difficult pigment management

Trivia

  • Kleiver's name comes from Kleiver, a wastelander NPC from Jak 3. [1]
  • Kleiver's appearance is based off an illustration from the book Codex Seraphinianus that depicted several figure wearing similar helmets dressing skeletons in skin.[1]
  • Kleiver's personality was intended to be an angrier version of Father Grigori from Half Life 2.[1]
  • Kleiver is infected with the musical tumours that cause music men to transform into instruments of the Ungod. Kleiver's helmet prevents these tumours from growing further.[1]
  • Removing Kleiver's helmet would kill him as it would allow the tumours to rapidly expand and transform.[1]
  • Kleiver was initially distrustful of Hans as her polyp-y body is superficially similar to the tumours of a music man.[1]
  • Arnold hates Kleiver and refuses to elaborate as to why.[1]
  • Boyle and Kleiver claim to be friends but rarely ever speak.[1]
  • Anton claims to be friends with Kleiver. Kleiver denies this.[1]
  • Kleiver's gameplay originally revolved around inflicting a status effect called Gutted. Gutted caused enemies to receive maximum health damage as well as direct damage. This status effect was reworked several times but ultimately was cut as it was too complicated and wasn't very effective against most enemies.[1]
  • Kleiver is tied with Arnold as Talia Mair's favourite party member.
  • Kleiver has met Bimini before as confirmed by Talia on a stream.
  • Kleiver was shot dead in life[2]
  • Kleiver is a Zealot because his hatred of the music men and the Ungod religion has become so strong that his hatred has personally become his own religion.[3]
  • Kleiver is Polish[4]
