Trivia

  • The Mung and Mungie in Mobius' boss fight are actually separate enemies with the added passive effect Withering and alternative timeline icons.[1]
  • Mung encountered throughout Brutal Orchestra are juveniles capable of reproduction, a phenomenon often referred to as being a "Jack" that often occurs in Chinook Salmon.[1]
  • Mung will eventually grow into a much larger form known as a Mungodo, two Mungodo can be seen in Mobius' boss encounter, Mungodo are fully aquatic.[1]
  • Mungie, cannot perform "Sob" as an ability because unlike human infants Mungie are not cowards.[1]
  • Although unseen in Brutal Orchestra the awkward seal like way mung move through the dunes of the Far Shore is referred to as galumphing.[1]
  • During Brutal Orchestra's development "Gulp" would self heal instead of applying Shield but this made playtesters constantly feel like they were losing progress so it was reworked.[1]
  • The Mungling Mudlung somehow was the thing that almost got Brutal Orchestra a higher age rating than 14 in Brazil, this baffled Talia who was confident Trigger Fingers or the Zeitgeist was definitely going to get the game a 16-18 age rating.[1]
  • Mud Lung have such stubby legs from wearing them down by walking.[1]
  • Mung taste like butter and melt apart when cooked.[1]
  • An enemy called a Mungle was designed for Swallow the Sea but were never implemented, this enemy did not resemble a fish and instead was like a shrunken shrieking head with a bloated disconnected body nearby, when the head would scream it would strengthen the gravity of the level. The Mungle was cut when all gravity/open world related mechanics were cut from Swallow the Sea.[1]
  • A different enemy called a Mungle was designed for Brutal Orchestra during its earliest stages where the game was known by the working title Ball Wizards. This enemy loosely resembled the current Mud Lung but featured orange eyes for nipples, a large toothy mouth where the belly should be and an orange skull with would blow out its throat hole like some kind of blow hole. This enemy was cut as the visual aesthetics of Brutal Orchestra solidified and Purgatory was picked as a setting. The only surviving enemy from this period of development is the Clotted Jumbleguts.[1]
